The Maltese Merchant Shipping Directorate has launched the second edition of the Commercial Yacht Code.
Since the launching of the 2006 Commercial Yacht Code, a number of commercial yachts have been successfully registered under the Maltese flag.
Unlike other Commercial Yacht Codes, the Maltese Commercial Yacht Code is a comprehensive code which regulates the registration of all commercial yachts starting off from a minimum length of 15 metres and having a maximum of 2999GT. The Commercial Yacht Code 2010 is intended to regulate Maltese flagged yachts carrying not more than twelve passengers and being operated for commercial purposes as from 1st January, 2011.
